Agribusiness
AEI-Liberia’s key objective is to develop and enable local agriculture businesses to grow into sustained profitable businesses with value added products and services.
In executing this objective our goals are to:
- Build profitable agricultural businesses for public, private and international partners where the local communities are key partners and beneficiaries.
- Provide professional management and training to existing and new agricultural businesses and projects for business growth and development.
- Promote the appropriate government policies for agricultural business development with focus on local impact versus national impact.
While meeting this objective, we will create significant linkages in the local economies where we operate and result in sustained private-sector agriculture contribution to economic growth and poverty reduction. AEI will stimulate and engage local communities as partners which will provide social and economic benefits, while providing economic and financial returns to all stakeholders.
At an international level we have made numerous trips to Malaysia to meet with members of their Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and potential partners to develop relationships with one of the largest palm oil producers in the world. We have also developed contacts with numerous people in the oil palm industry as well, given that was our initial focus. The MPOB is open to public to public and private to private partnerships in Liberia.
Relationship with South African Fruit Exporters (SAFE) – SAFE is a partner of AEI. SAFE has successfully established public-private partnerships in the southern African region and has extensive agri-business experiences in that region. AEI and SAFE are partnering on potential agricultural investment and consulting initiatives in Liberia and West Africa.
AEI’s management has established relationships with various Liberian government agencies. AEI has the support of the Liberian government and will seek to maximize its ties to the government and benefit from investor incentives the government has in place.
